His shadowy reputation is exactly why he's approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King and leader of the Brotherhood.

Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood, even though is sister is married to a member. Because he's a symphath, his identity is a deadly secret - the revelation of which could result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths. As plots within and outside the Brotherhood take their told on Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in his darkening world - Ehlena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him - and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

My thoughts:
Fantastic book! OMG, probably the best yet. Well, maybe not quite as good as book 2 & 3 but still right up there. Loved the storyline and all the different things that happened in this book. It really brought a lot together and we really found out a whole bunch of symphaths. Amazing. There was a lot of stuff with Wrath and Bella's family. A LOT with John Matthew which the next book is going to be about. I can't wait. Ward really left the ending to be open when it comes to that. There's going to be a lot going on in the next book so I hope she comes out with it pretty soon. I hope not a whole year has to go by to read about John Matthew and Xhex.

I'm going to do a quick summery of the important things that happened just because so much happened in this book that I just can't do a thorough summery.

About this book:
Zsadist has a past...but his his horrible. So horrible that he still can't talk about it. Things got better after he found Bella as his mate but now Bella has given birth to Nalla, and Zsadist withdrawns back into himself because he has reacurring dreams of his past and now Nalla is involved in them. How can Zsadist come back and live his life without letting his past come between him and his family? Can he work through his problems or will Bella take Nalla and leave him forever?

My thoughts:
I thought this story was fantastic! I love that J.R. Ward wrote a short story about Zsadist since he has all the problems with his past and everything. It really made sense that he would withdrawn into himself after Nalla was born since he has always had issues with people touching him and then having to deal with the fact that one day he'll have to explain to Nalla that her father was a blood slave and all that goes with that station.

Recap...Major Spoilers... )

Like I said, it was a fantastic story and very heart felt and touching. I loved it. It made me kinda teary-eyed because of how sweet Zsadist is when he's with Bella and Nalla. :)

ISBN: 0-451-22272-5
Pages: 534
Rating: Must Have

About this book:
Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive, and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.

As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself. She is drawn to the noble responsibility behind the emotionally scarred male. But Phury has never allowed himself to know pleasure or joy. As the war with the Lessening Society grows grim, tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, and Phury must decide between duty and love...

My thoughts:
I loved this book. I've heard from a lot of different people that they didn't like this one because it was too boring and a lot of detail. Now I don't know what they were talking about because it seemed the same amount of detail in all of her other books as there is in this one. And I thought this book was better than that last two. So...therefore, I have to say that this book did not disappoint. Actually it made me get back into the series because after book five, I was really disappointed. So, now I'm back on the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Recap....Major Spoilers.... )

If anybody that reads this can think of anything else that I missed in my recap that is important, comment and let me know. This book was so big that I probably did miss something important.

My thoughts:
I had a little bit of a hard time understand what was going on in this book. I'm not used to authors just jumping into a story and not explaining whats going on. I really hated the parts with the lessers because I had no clue what they were and that they were even immortal. Anyways, the book was good and I enjoyed Wrath's story.

I loved reading about Butch and Marissa too. I can't wait until their story!!! When I started this book, I fell for Wrath. My heart just hurt for him because I could just feel his pain coming off the pages. It was cool.
