34. All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris

Pages: 323
Rating: 4/5
Series/Anthology: 7th in the Southern Vampire seres.

About this book:
Betrayed by her longtime vampire love, Louisina cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse must now not only deal with a possible new man in her life - the oh - so - handsome shape shifter Quinn - but also contend with a long - planned vampire summit. With her power base weakened by hurricane damager to New Orleans, the local vampire queen is vulnerable to those hungry for a take - over. Soon, Sookie must decide what side she'll stand with. And her choice may mean the difference between survival and all - out catastrophe...

My thoughts:
Very good but still not the best in the series. The ending was very intense and had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I had a hard time with this book because of all the characters that came into it. And all the characters that were from other books and I didn't remember. So trying to keep track of who everybody was, was a little difficult. I can't wait to read From Dead To Worse but that will be awhile until I can get it from the library. I have a position held and whenever it's my turn, I'll be able to read it.

Major Spoilers... )

27. Warrior Rising by P.C. Cast

Title: Warrior Rising
Author: P.C. Cast
Genre: Romance - Fantasy
ISBN: 0-425-22137-7
Pages: 340
Rating: 4/5
Series/Anthology: Yes, book 6 in the Goddess Summoning series.

About this book:
Goddesses Hera, Athena, and Venus have had it up to here with the Trojan War. So much devastation - all because of some silly male egos. The worst of the bunch is Achilles, the Greek Champion whose powers have made him practically invincible. To stop him would be to end the war. But the only way to stop a man like Achilles is to distract him - with something far more pleasurable than combat...

The three goddesses seize their chance when a twenty-first-century beauty named Kat and her best friend perish in a car crash in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In no time, they shift the friends' souls into the bodies of a Trojan princess and her handmaiden, having no doubt that Kat will catch Achilles attention. But can her independent, fiery spirit match the unquenchable fire of his epic rage? Goddess only knows...

My thoughts:
This book was actually better than I thought it was going to be. It was a little difficult to get into in the beginning because there are a lot of different characters that you have to get to know and a bunch of different events that happened way before the story ever took place, so you have to be updated on everything that had happened. It was a little confusing but definitely worth the read. It turned into a very good story and it's amusing in the process. P.C. Cast does a great job with her novels and takes you into a world of fantasy for you to get lost in. This book in particular had a lot more adventure than her other Goddess Summoning series.

Great book and it comes with recommendation. All of Cast's books do. They are all very good.

With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?

My thoughts:
Wow, this book was fantastic! I couldn't put it down and finished it in 3 days. Which is record timing with a book this size. I don't think there was one part of this book that I didn't like. The world that Stephenie Meyer created when starting these books have reached so many readers in such a short time is completely and utterly fantastic. Up until today, I thought that this book was actually going to be the last book of the series and I was so disappointed, but I found out that Meyer's is making a fourth book so this puts a smile back on my face. So anyways, this book is probably my favorite out of the 3 books. There was so much more suspense in this book than the others. Major Spoilers.... ) So like I said, this book really hit the spot and there wasn't anything in this book that I didn't like. I will have to reread this series before the 4th book comes out.

58. The Choice by Nicolas Sparks

Title: The Choice
Author: Nicolas Sparks
Genre: Fiction
ISBN: 0-446-57992-0
Pages: 272
Rating: 4.5/5

About this book:
Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life -- boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies -- he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style.

That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite his attempts to be neighborly, the appealing redhead seems to have a chip on her shoulder about him ... and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn't help.

Despite himself, Travis can't stop trying to ingratiate himself with his new neighbor, and his persistent efforts lead them both to the doorstep of a journey that neither could have foreseen. Spanning the eventful years of young love, marriage and family, The Choice ultimately confronts us with the most heartwrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

My thoughts:
Another fantastic book by Sparks. On ething that most authors lack is the emotion in their stories/books. Sparks makes you feel the love between his characters. You can feel the warmth and love just radiating from within the pages. I do have to admit though that this book had a different edge then his other books. I can't explain why but there was somthing that was just different about this book than his others. Big Spoilers ) So al in all, I think that this isn't my favorite book by him but it's at the top of the list somewhere.

55. Night of the Huntress by Kathryn Smith

Title: Night of the Huntress
Author: Kathryn Smith
Genre: Romance
ISBN: 0-06-084991-6
Pages: 370
Rating: 4.5/5
2nd in a series

About this book:
Since the foul murder of my beloved wife three hundred years past, I have dedicated myself to the destruction of monsters. My obsession is rivaled only by the raging blood-lust that sets me apart from ordinary men. But now there is another who seeks vengeance as well. She is called The Huntress -- and when our paths cross, one of us must die.

But now that I have seen Marika Korzha, how can I be the instrument of her ruin? The beauty and courage of this determined vampire slayer move me in ways I no longer believed possible. And I alone know her dark secret. We are more alike than the exquisite Huntress realizes. We both crave justice . . . and passion . . . and absolution. And we dare not deny the desire that consumes us both . . .

My thoughts:
I must say that this wasn't as good as the first book in the series (Be Mine Tonight) but definitely worth reading. I was bored int he beginning cause I felt that it kept dragging on and on but once Marika and Bishop started liking each other, thats when it started getting good. Mostly I would have to say that this book is more about adventure than love. My opinion. I mean, there is romance but it just was more action filled than actually love and romance. Maybe that's why I wasn't as thrilled with this one.

53. Twilight by Stephanie Meyers

Title: Twilight
Author: Stephanie Meyers
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
ISBN: 0-316-01584-9
Pages: 498
Rating: 4.5/5

About this book:
Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife -- between desire and danger.

My thoughts:
Awesome book! I've been hearing all the ranting and ravings about this book and I'm surprised that I never checked it out before now. I must say that all the gossip about this book being awesome is definitely correct! It was a little slow in the beginning but most definitely picks up. I know why they put this book in the young adult section, however this book can be for all ages. I loved the whole concept of the vampires and loved the characters. There was this part that I thought was absolutely beautiful about these vampires of Ms. Meyers and that was when they go into direct sunlight and they start shining like a diamond. I thought that concept was truely extraordinary! Definitely a re-read and a keeper.
