Breath of Magic by Teresa Medeiros

Title: Breath of Magic
Author: Teresa Medeiros
Pages: 374
Rating: 2/5
Genre: Romance

About this book:
Boy millionaire Tristan Lennox, a pagan satyr in a $2000 suit, throws an annual magic contest in Manhattan to try to trace his former partner, who stole a magic computer program named Warlock and disappeared into the ether. Smack into the middle of his special event, riding her willow broom, flies Arian Whitewood, a 17th-century witchlet from Massachusetts, who rubbed her emerald amulet and conjured herself away from the mob of Puritans who were trying to drown her. Arian, petite and fiery, has to contend with the new magic of the 20th century; and Tristan has to learn to trust again, as is the vogue.

My thoughts:
Well, this book was very different writing style then I'm used to. I must say that I felt like I couldn't conjure up a picture in my head of what was happening. When I read a book, I feel like I'm watching a movie but I felt like I couldn't find that comfortable spot to see a movie in my head. I hope that makes sense. I mean, some parts were written really well where I could picture what was going on and then other parts were just dead to me. Then there was too much description where there didn't need to be any and then where there should've been descriptions, there wasn't. I'm hoping that it was just with this book. There's a sequel to this book called Touch of Enchantment and I plan on reading that one. I mean the story was great! I thought that it was very imaginitive and everything but just the way that it was written sucked. It totally took away from the story itself. I'm very disappointed with this. Like I said, I hope that maybe her other books aren't like this one, maybe she got better at writing. Let's hope ah? Anyways, I loved the LOVE/HATE relationship between Tristen and Arian. Them not being able to trust each other and then finally them turning out loving each other so much. I loved the fact that Medeiro's took you back in time to 1696 and everything. It was cute. It was a very good story other than the writing. Would I recommend this book to anybody? Probably not.
