47. One Word Answer by Charlaine Harris

Title: One Word Answer
Author: Charlaine Harris
Genre: Fantasy
ISBN: 0-515-13970-X
Pages: 24
Rating: 1/5
Series/Anthology: In the anthology Bite, also part of the Sookie Stackhouse series.

About this book:
Sookie finds out how her cousin, Hadley, is murdered.

My thoughts:
I have no idea why Harris wrote this short story. It was pointless and didn't really tell you anything important. I am very disappointed and was expecting so much more. Some...explaination I guess you would say.

Spoilers... )

I know...stupid right?

Secret Sins by Jasmine Cresswell

Title: Secret Sins
Author: Jasmine Cresswell
Genre: Romance
ISBN: 0778323706
Pages: 409
Rating: 1/5

Liliana Rodier's father is a powerful and dangerous man. He had Liliana's mother committed to an institution, where she has spent the past 20 years. At the age of 27, Jessica Marie Pamanys is shocked to learn that her real name is Liliana Rodier. A threat on her life prompts Jessica to seek an appointment with her father--a meeting she may live to regret.

My thoughts:
I absolutly hated this book. Honestly, it was a total bore until the very end. It didn't get good until like page 280 or so. I do have to give the author credit thought that the story line was good but it just wasn't put together good I don't think. If she were to go back and think things through a little more. It would have potential. There was too much description that there was no point for the reader to know that it made it boring and probably longer than it should have been. Although I did like the characters and they were well put together. I definitly wouldn't recommend this book to anybody.

Kissing Doorknobs by Terry Spencer Hesser

Title: Kissing Doorknobs
Author: Terry Spencer Hesser
Pages: 149
Rating: 1/5
Genre: Young Adult

About this book:
Tara has odd quirks she can't control. She must count the cracks in the sidewalk, kiss her front door knob before exiting, and pray whenever someone sins in her presence. Her parents hope these are part of a phase. Her friends tolerate the oddities and Tara feels enslaved by them. It isn't until a teacher correctly identifies Tara's illness as obsessive-compulsive disorder that the young girl is able to begin to retake control of her life. This novel takes a realistic and intense look at a baffling illness.

My thoughts:
Okay, I read this book on a recommendation and I must say that I was rather disappointed with the book. I've been looking to read it for a long time and finally when I get the book, I'm not thrilled. I would definitly say that I could've lived without reading it. I mean, it wasn't BAD BAD or anything. It just wasn't what I expected. First, I thought it was going to be longer than 149 pages. Then it was mostly just all thoughts from Tara in the beginning. Most of it anyways. I did end up liking the ending of the book. I thought it did turn out better than I thought. Would I recommend this book to someone? Probably not unless they wanna read about a girl with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend this book. I know there are a lot of people that liked it but I am one of the few that did not.
